French Health Tech Leader, Domalys Releases Smart Lamp in U.S. Market

Domalys, a leader in smart technology for vulnerable populations, is premiering its latest innovation, Aladin® at CES 2021. Honored with the prestigious CES Innovation Award in 2019, Aladin is a state-of-the-art smart lamp that both anticipates and prevents falls for both dependents and assisted living residents. Not only is the product a necessity to a growing market [the 2020 United States Census estimates the baby boomer population to be 73M people]; but allows for the prolonged independence of seniors.

More than a smart lamp, Aladin is equipped with motion sensors, fall detection, and autonomous monitoring that allows caregivers the ability to monitor from a safe distance. Through a proprietary application, clients are alerted via Domalys’ Online software which records nighttime activity and notifies of any potential hazards that may occur within the room where Aladin is installed. Fully customizable, the Aladin lighting functions to best suit its constituents.

Through three major features Aladin surpasses the competition:

(1) Anticipation: Aladin monitors the baseline activity of the resident movements and anticipates future actions through machine learning – warning caregivers if something uncharacteristic occurs.

(2) Prevention: if the light is not sufficient enough in the room, Aladin lights the way automatically. This is proven to reduce falls up to 75%.

(3) Fall Detection: if a fall occurs, Aladin detects and immediately notifies caregivers and/or appropriate contacts.

Also, no WiFi?No problem! If there is no viable connected internet on a premises, Domalys will deploy its own system directly into the wall where the Aladin smart lamp is installed, single-handedly keeping them connected to a cloud without need for any networking know-how on dependents or caregivers.

The elder family member and their loved ones will need to download the company's Ensemble app to use its messaging capabilities.

In a time when privacy is of utmost importance, Domalys only uses military-grade servers operating internationally and in compliance with data privacy legislation.

“Our Aladin smart lamp has proven to dramatically reduce the risk of falls, first providing automatic lighting to help ensure safety for residents, then also detecting if a fall does occur and immediately alerting caregivers with the built-in fall detection,” said Domalys Founder Arnaud Brillaud. “Throughout the western world, the so-called ‘baby boomer’ generation is aging, at risk of losing their independence altogether. Aladin is ideal for securing nighttime activity and increasing autonomy for seniors, alleviating stress for residents and caregivers.”

Deployed in Europe for more than 100,000 clients, Aladin by Domalys has proven to be an optimal solution to a very real problem. Named the best fall detection service in the EU market, Aladin is now available in the U.S. market. For more information, please visit www.domalys.com
