The Biltmore Hotel Miami Tower Goes Pink For Breast Cancer Awareness Month

10/27/20

After celebrating several Breast Cancer Awareness Meetings and Events under the “New Normal Guidelines,” the beloved hotel lights up the community in honor of breast cancer awareness

The Biltmore Hotel, a national historic landmark located in the heart of Coral Gables, and a long-time industry leader, announced it is lighting its spire and tower pink every night until the last day in October to show support for Breast Cancer Awareness and to honor those affected by breast cancer.

“Year after year, the hotel has supported Breast Cancer Awareness initiatives, campaigns, organizations and their meetings, but this year, it had a deeper meaning for us, as we all recover from the challenges that 2020 has presented us, said Tom Prescott, Executive, The Biltmore Hotel. “We feel The Biltmore lighting of the tower and spire in solidarity with the cause, serves as a symbol of hope of light in the community.”

During the month of October, the hotel successfully held the Annual Breast Cancer Awareness event for the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce entitled Fashionably Pink. This was one of the first major events held since the Biltmore announced the reopening of its event and meeting spaces with additional safety protocols and procedures to keep its attendees safe.

The reopening of the event spaces at The Biltmore is a key milestone in recovery during the pandemic. It’s also important to the community because the hotel provides a central place to gather for safely hosted events and meetings. “Moreover, with the limitations inherent with virtual events, we have sought to provide a healthy and safe way to meet in person such as the fashionably pink luncheon.” added Tom Prescott.

One of the Biltmore’s greatest attributes is the location of the meetings and events spaces - which are situated in secluded areas away from restaurants and busier areas of the property. This allows attendees to enjoy quiet areas - avoiding densely populated places.

For many years, The Biltmore has been a longtime favorite for world leaders. In 1994, President Clinton hosted 34 heads of state from the western hemisphere at the summit of the Americas. And since 2015, The Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce has hosted their monthly chamber luncheons at the Biltmore.

As the ‘new normal’ has been implemented at the iconic hotel, the safety standards at the Biltmore exceed government and CDC health safety guidelines to ensure it maintains its title as the premier meeting and convention center in the city, with 23 meeting rooms and more than 75,000 square feet of event space—the hotel’s expansive facilities (indoor or outdoor), can accommodate groups of all sizes.

The Biltmore is South Florida’s preferred destinations for a broad range of events, including, corporate events, conferences, and social gatherings. The Biltmore Hotel has recently completed a $35 million restoration and redesign project of the resort, which includes remodeled accommodations and meeting spaces. Located in the heart of Coral Gables, the Biltmore Hotel is a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts.
