CDTC Awarded Recognition by National Committee for Quality Assurance Patient-Centered Medical Home

8/26/20

Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center (CDTC) has been awarded recognition by the National Committee for Quality Assurance Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) Program. CDTC first received this recognition three years ago for following a model of primary care that combines teamwork and information technology to enhance care and patient experience, as well as reduce costs.

CDTC has been offering medical services coupled with healing, hope and support to women, infants, children and youth with special healthcare needs in Broward County for almost four decades. To more than 12,000 patients, CDTC is an invaluable resource providing a combination of comprehensive medical care, care coordination, dental services, health education, nutrition and early intervention services.

“CDTC is thrilled that our doctors and staff have once again achieved recognition as an NCQA Patient Centered Medical Home,” said CDTC Executive Director Ana Calderon Randazzo, Ph.D. “The PCMH endeavor shows our commitment to providing the best care, health outcomes and overall satisfaction to our patients and their families. This recognition reflects our vision of going ‘Beyond Medicine, Into the Heart of Care.’”

Providing a comprehensive, “one stop” resource for care allows CDTC to transform the lives of special needs patients so they can live healthy and productive lives. The support of a CDTC care team affects not just the children’s health but the lives of every member of their families.

To earn PCMH recognition, CDTC demonstrated the ability to meet the program’s key elements, embodying characteristics of the medical home. “NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home “Recognition raises the bar in defining high-quality care by emphasizing access, health information technology and coordinated care focused on patients,” said NCQA President Margaret E. O’Kane. “Recognition shows that Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center has the tools, systems and resources to provide its patients with the right care, at the right time.”
