Space of Mind (SOM), which pioneered Social HomeschoolingTM over the last 10 years, has expanded its educational ecosystem to include a new concept for 21st century learning, SOMspace, a co-learning community for homeschoolers, distance learners and enrichment seekers.
The new concept and campus, called SOMSpace, is located at 8230 S. 210th Street in Boca Raton and will open for the new school year on Monday, August 31st. This is in addition to Space of Mind’s 10,000 square foot campus on Swinton Avenue in Delray Beach. The program is accepting members in grades K-12 and will offer scholarships and aid so that families of all income levels have the opportunity to participate.
The program will offer fourteen flexible learning spaces for a total of 50-60 students in mixed-age groups at a time. Each space accommodates a group of three to eight members and one to two coaches. The Achievement Centers for Children and Families, a Delray Beach non-profit that serves 900 children and families, will be the recipient of funds from the rent, enabling some of its families to participate in the SOMspace programming.
SOMspace will offer:
Co-working rooms - inspiring & adaptive learning spaces for learners of all sizes, ages and levels Creative studio & programs - classes, workshops and a safe space for extra-curricular programming and social skill development Homeschool concierge - coaching, consulting, curriculum development Pantry - Community Classroom Kitchen will stock the space with healthy and hearty all-you-can-eat snacks and a menu of premade a la carte lunches, take-home dinners
“At Space of Mind, we practice and teach that social justice is a national need and we recognize that Americans at all demographic levels need choice, diversity and inclusion for a balanced, complete and compassionate education,” said Ali Kaufman, founder and CEO of Space of Mind. “The demand for co-learning pods is tremendous and we are delighted to expand our programming with this new campus and concept to fill this need without burdening parents with having to figure it all out for themselves.”

About Achievement Centers for Children & Families
At Achievement Centers for Children & Families children are involved in Early Learning (Toddler and Preschool), After School, Teen and Summer Camp programs that help prepare them for academic and social success and inspire them to discover their talents. Our families are served through our Family Strengthening and Economic Stabilization services which benefit the community by stabilizing families in crisis; supporting them to serve as the foundation of their child’s growth. Family strengthening services are embedded within our four core programs of Early Learning, After School, Teen and Summer Camp.
