The Miami Home Design and Remodeling Show has added new DIY demos to its “Stay at Home with the Home Show” social media live series for the month of May. The DIY demos are designed to help give new life to the living space using what is on hand or on a budget.

Launched in April, the series featured South Florida design personalities: Alena Capra, host of SoFlo Home Project; Martin Amado, a TV host/design expert on ION Television, and author of “One-Day Room Makeovers”; Ann Ueno, South Florida Interior Designer; and Sandra Diaz-Velasco, Architect and Interior Designer.

“Stay at Home with the Home Show” broadcasts live each Monday beginning at 7:00 p.m. on the Home Show’s Facebook followed by @FLHomeShows on Instagram.

Each Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. on Facebook, Vice President and Show Director Adam Kayce interviews home improvement exhibitors such as Wrap My Kitchen and Velum Design, which gives them an opportunity to talk about their products and services.

Through these digital efforts, homeowners can learn and also stay connected with a wide selection of mostly, South Florida based companies that offer everything from security systems and smart home technology, to hurricane protection and home décor and furnishings. The show’s platform has grown to over 30,000 followers on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter combined and has thousands of email subscribers.

Recaps of “Stay at Home with the Home Show” can be found on the Home Show blog www.homeshows.net/blog and on YouTube.

VDA specializes in residential, commercial, and hospitality interior design across the East Coast, but that’s not where Deleon got her start. That would be at her family’s furniture business in Secaucus, NJ where her love for design began. From there she earned a degree in interior design and launched VDA, which has now been in business for over 18 years. Deleon’s tailored approach to design draws upon her Cuban roots and a love for the Art Deco heritage there. That, along with her fashion-forward sensibility landed her on HGTV’s Design Star along with a slew of other television appearances. Today, Deleon can be found working on design projects, branding and licensing ventures, gracing screens across the U.S., donating her time by styling and/or designing for Designer Show Houses, or fine tuning the design of her own home, a luxurious ground-up build in New Jersey.
