Adrienne Wolfson, MSN, RN, BHA, CCRN-K, executive director nursing administration at Holy Cross Hospital, has received national recognition for reaching a significant milestone in nursing.

For 35 years, Wolfson has consistently maintained her Critical-Care Registered Nurse (CCRN®) certification offered through AACN Certification Corporation, the credentialing arm of the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN). She was honored by the corporation and the AACN for this milestone. The recognition comes in time for National Certified Nurses Day on March 19.

CCRN certification is one of the most advanced professional credentials that can be achieved by a nurse in the field of acute/critical care. As a result, the CCRN credential is highly regarded as recognition of advanced knowledge and clinical expertise in the care of acutely/critically ill patients and their families.

“Adrienne carries out the Holy Cross mission and honors our core values each and every day,” said Taren Ruggiero, MSN, RN, Vice President & Chief Nursing Officer. “She brings a high level of commitment to creating an exceptional caring and compassionate environment here. We congratulate her on this well-deserved honor.”

A resident of Plantation, Wolfson has been a nurse since 1981. Her first experience in the field of medicine was in high school when she worked as a patient care technician. In college, Wolfson changed her major from music to nursing, graduating from University of Florida with an associate degree in nursing. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration from St. Thomas University and a Master’s degree in nursing from University of Phoenix. Wolfson has been an associate of Holy Cross Hospital for 31 years.
