Exclusive Coverage of December 18th LaLiga Clash Reflects Soccer Growth and Enthusiasm for beIN SPORTS USA Network Properties

beIN SPORTS today announced its ratings success following the popular broadcast of LaLiga’s “El Clásico” matchup between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, which aired live on December 18th from Barcelona, Spain. beIN SPORTS’ exclusive coverage of the match on both networks, beIN SPORTS and beIN SPORTS en Español, resulted in a combined audience reach of more than 350,000 viewers, with the broadcasts airing live during a Wednesday afternoon time slot.

According to Nielsen Media Research, the combined viewership of El Clásico on both beIN Networks reached 354,954 viewers (P2+), ranking the match in the Top-20 most-watched cable sports event of the day. This match outperformed all of the individual telecasts on FOX Sports 1, FOX Sports 2, MLB Network, NBA-TV, NFL Network, NBC Sports, and Tennis Channel, as well as all Spanish-language Sports Cable Networks.

Among Adults 18-49, El Clásico on beIN SPORTS en Español had an average audience of 147,382 viewers, attracting a younger audience vs. FOX Deportes’ FIFA Club Copa Mundial Semi-Final (median age 46). In fact, for the day, beIN SPORTS Español’s Median Age (36 years) was younger than all English and Spanish-language Sports Networks.

The lead-out to the match: Locker Room – Post - El Clásico at ranked as the #3 Spanish-language Sports Cable Network program with 84,000 viewers P2+.
