Miramar-based financial institution is only credit union in South Florida to make the list based primarily on employee satisfaction
One of the leading voices in the credit union industry has named Miramar-based Tropical Financial Credit Union one of the “2019 Best Credit Unions to Work For” in the United States. Tropical Financial was the only South Florida institution and just one of two in all of Florida to make the list of 50 compiled by the Credit Union Journal.
This survey and awards program is designed to identify, recognize and honor credit unions that go above and beyond in terms of their employees’ job satisfaction, career development and personal growth.
“With thousands of credit unions in the U.S, we are honored to be among the Best Credit Unions to Work For,” said Rich Helber, president and CEO. “It’s especially meaningful that the ranking is based on feedback from our own employees. We go out of our way to take care of our team members and to me, this is validation we are on the right track.”
Determining the “Best Credit Unions to Work For” involved a two-step process. The first consisted of evaluating each participating credit union’s workplace policies, practices, and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second consisted of employee surveys aimed at assessing the experiences and attitudes of individual employees with respect to their workplace. This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the final ranking.
To be considered, credit unions had to have at least 25 employees working in the U.S. and been in business a minimum of one year. Best Companies Group managed the registration and survey process and also analyzed the data and to determine the final ranking.
