Baker Donelson has appointed Mahira Khan to serve as Pro Bono Committee Office Chair for the Firm's Fort Lauderdale office.

As the Fort Lauderdale Pro Bono Committee Office Chair, Ms. Khan will work to identify and address local pro bono needs while coordinating with Baker Donelson Pro Bono Shareholder Samuel T. Bowman for global pro bono initiatives.

Ms. Khan is an associate in the Firm's Fort Lauderdale office, where she concentrates her practice in probate, commercial litigation, creditors' rights, property insurance litigation, health care litigation, and regulatory compliance. She is experienced in probate litigation and ancillary probate litigation matters, representing creditors as well as personal representatives in the administration of Florida estates. Her experience has also included immigration and family law. While in law school at Florida International University College of Law, Ms. Khan served as a student attorney at the Health, Ethics, Law and Policy Clinic, interned at the 11th Judicial Circuit of Florida with the Honorable Judge Sarah Zabel, and interned as a legal editor with the Bloomberg BNA Patent, Trademark, & Copyright Journal.
