The Junior League of Greater Fort Lauderdale’s 19th Annual Riverwalk Run Attracts More Than 800 Runners and Walkers

5/9/19

The Junior League of Greater Fort Lauderdale recently hosted its 19th Annual Riverwalk Run on Saturday, April 6th at Huizenga Plaza in downtown Fort Lauderdale. This annual fundraising event supports the Junior League of Greater Fort Lauderdale’s current community projects, which include human trafficking awareness, diversity and inclusion, and childhood fitness and nutrition, as well as numerous done-in-a-day projects benefiting other non-profits, children and families in Broward County.

More than 800 runners, walkers and supporters attended the Riverwalk Run, including the 5K Run/Walk and 5 Mile Run. The event also featured a Kids’ Fun Run, lined with parents and volunteers to guide the young ones along the course. The races concluded with a light brunch, kids’ activities and prizes.

"This event is one of the oldest races in Fort Lauderdale, and we look forward to seeing participants who return year after year to support the Junior League and run or walk the beautiful course along the Riverwalk and through the Rio Vista neighborhood,” said Christina Jolley, Riverwalk Run 2019 Co-Chair. “The Riverwalk Run is truly a celebration of community spirit and a fun way to support our philanthropic initiatives. We hope everyone will join us for our 20th anniversary next year!"

The 2020 Riverwalk Run will once again take place at Huizenga Plaza and more details will be available soon at www.RiverwalkRun.com.

The generous supporters of the 2019 Riverwalk Run included CenterState Bank, Cushman & Wakefield, Frank Costoya Architect, Friendly John, Kelley Kronenberg, Kiwanis Club of Fort Lauderdale, Little's Photography, Orange Theory, ProMedia, PurePoint Financial, and Smith Currie & Hancock.
