The Junior League of Greater Fort Lauderdale to Host 19th Annual Riverwalk Run on April 6

The Junior League of Greater Fort Lauderdale will host its 19th Annual Riverwalk Run on Saturday, April 6th at Huizenga Plaza in downtown Fort Lauderdale. The 5K Run/Walk and 5 Mile Run will begin at 8 a.m. and the Kids’ Fun Run starts at 9:15 am. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Junior League of Greater Fort Lauderdale’s current community projects, which include human trafficking awareness, diversity and inclusion, and childhood fitness and nutrition.

The 19th Annual Riverwalk Run is expected to host more than 1,000 runners and walkers. Starting at Huizenga Plaza on Las Olas Blvd., the route will curve along the bank of the New River, wandering through the tree-lined neighborhood of Rio Vista, then cut through Smoker Park with beautiful views passing by historic Stranahan House, culminating on the signature brick path of the Riverwalk.

Post-race festivities will include a light brunch, kids’ activities, and prizes. Registration for the 5K and 5 Mile Run is $35 until March 13, and $45 from March 14 until the day of the race. Early registration for the Kids’ Fun Run is $15 and regular registration is $20.
