American Cancer Society of Broward Hosted VIP Kickoff Party for Upcoming Celebration Gala

3/3/19

On Feb. 27, nearly 75 guests enjoyed an exclusive evening of signature cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at the American Cancer Society’s 2019 Celebration Gala Kickoff party at Ouzo Bay, located in Mizner Park in Boca Raton. Attendees included event sponsors and supporters from both Broward and Palm Beach Counties.

Gala co-chair and kickoff host, Pinnacle Advertising CEO Peter Gary, held the kickoff in Boca Raton to bring together Broward and Palm Beach supporters of the Gala.

Speakers included Keith Koenig, president of City Furniture. Koenig and his wife Kelly are honorees for the Celebration Gala, which will take place on May 4. Additional speakers were Noreen Salah Burpee, executive director of The Salah Foundation - Presenting Sponsor of the Gala for the third consecutive year, Gala chair Lori Castle, and Gala co-chair LoriAnn Gary. Dr. Emmanuel Thomas, a cancer research specialist at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, addressed the guests and thanked them for their dedicated commitment to continuing the ongoing fight against cancer.

All of the speakers stated that 2019 would be a banner year for the Gala. “The majority of everyone at the kickoff party has been touched by cancer in some way,” said Gary. “We all have one goal: to raise more money for cancer research toward a cure.”

Sponsors for the kickoff party included Presenting Sponsor the Salah Foundation, VIP Kickoff Sponsor Ouzo Bay, Diamond Sponsor City Furniture, Gold Sponsors Pinnacle Advertising and the Frantz Family, Silver Sponsor AutoNation, Walls of Bravery Sponsor Cancer Treatment Centers of America, and Mission Sponsor University of Miami’s Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, among many others.
