JAFCO Signature Luncheon & Fashion Show Raises $73,000

2/4/19

With 450 supporters in attendance, JAFCO’s Central Palm Beach Chapter raised $73,000 at its Signature Luncheon and Fashion Show on January 23, 2019 at The Kravis Center in West Palm Beach. Proceeds from this exciting annual event benefit the children of JAFCO, which serves abused and neglected children and those with developmental disabilities.

This lovely afternoon of fashion and food was brought to life by luncheon co-chairs Ingrid Jaffe, who started this luncheon many years ago, and Nancy Brounstein. The event was held for many years at the Villaggio Clubhouse in Lake Worth, but has since outgrown the space as its popularity expands every year. This is the second year that the luncheon was held in the Cohen Pavilion at the Kravis Center, and the results exceeded expectations, with attendees ranging from Boca Raton to Palm Beach Gardens and everywhere in between.

This year’s attendees enjoyed a shopping boutique that included apparel, gift items and accessories from many of South Florida’s top retailers, followed by an exclusive fashion show put on by SuSu Smith and Bryan Perdomo of So Vivid Entertainment, and a delicious lunch catered by The Breakers.

“When we changed venues last year and opened up the event to the whole chapter, we never expected it to grow to this magnitude,” said Samantha Topper Berns, JAFCO Development Associate. “The response from the community has blown us away. Every single dollar raised by the community will help us continue to provide all children with safety, love, and security and a place to belong to, and for that we are so thankful.”

JAFCO is a nonprofit organization licensed by the state of Florida’s Department of Children and Family Services to serve abused, neglected, homeless, at-risk and developmentally disabled children in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties.
