Grey and Peggy Marker, founders of Marker Construction Group in Fort Lauderdale, are pleased to announce several new hires at the company as it continues to experience significant growth: Project Coordinator Ramonda Gordon, Construction Accountant Jenna Hague, Executive Assistant/Marketing Coordinator Joy Kandt, and Project Manager Miguel Lopez-Cao. A construction management and general contracting firm, Marker Construction Group specializes in commercial, multi-family, condominiums, hospitality, health care, and very high-end residential construction throughout the state of Florida. It was founded in 2001.
Gordon is a Fort Lauderdale resident who brings over 12 years of experience as a project coordinator to Marker Construction Group. Most recently, she was a project coordinator with Baring Industries (food service planning and kitchen contractors), where she worked with Brickell City Centre in downtown Miami, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa, and Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood. Prior to that time, she worked at Pirtle Construction with the Miami-Dade County Public Schools modular program.
Hague, a resident of Sunrise, has been in the construction industry since 2005. She joins Marker Construction Group as a construction accountant and is responsible for the company’s billing and receiving. She enjoys the out-of-the-box thinking that the construction industry requires, and seeing a project from its infancy to full completion.
A Fort Lauderdale resident, Kandt joined Marker Construction Group as an executive assistant and marketing coordinator, after managing a dental practice for 10 years. In addition, she has her real estate license. Kandt holds a Bachelor of Arts in accounting from Florida State University in Tallahassee.
Miami resident Lopez-Cao, a certified general contractor, brings years of experience working on large-scale construction projects to his position of project manager. He served on the team for the south terminal expansion and concourse J at Miami International Airport, the Eden Roc Hotel expansion and renovation, and U.S. Southern Command (Southcom). He holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology with minors in criminology and sports medicine from the University of Miami. In addition, he played minor league baseball for eight years, and owned a baseball academy for five years.
