Jungle Island Submits Initial Plans for New Hotel to City of Miami

Managed by ESJ Capital Partners Jungle Island submitted the initial plans in accordance with the City referendum approved lease amendment. The plans represent a next step in the overall development of Jungle Island

ESJ Capital Partners’ Jungle Island has submitted initial plans to the City of Miami for construction of a new hotel on the island.

The submittal of these initial plans for a family-friendly hotel, per the lease amendment approved by voters in a recent referendum, is a next step in the process for ESJ to modernize Jungle Island into a true eco-adventure themed destination. The overwhelming voter approval allows for the development of a hotel with 300 rooms and a maximum height of 130 feet, complemented by 30,000 sq. ft. of meeting space and 10,000 sq. ft. of retail, as well as other destination entertainment attractions.

As a whole, Jungle Island continues on its path to furthering its offerings with new attractions such as Super Flight – South Florida’s first permanently installed vertical wind tunnel with outdoor free fall simulation; The Battleground – a Nerf foam dart challenge course; and Escape from Jungle Island – a set of two escape rooms built for family adventures, as well as holiday-themed special events.

Enhanced food & beverage offerings, both throughout the park and through enhanced banquet facilities, include the newly-opened Banyan Deck and Plaza space to augment the park’s events and meetings venues, for a growing demand of more natural settings for both private and corporate events.
