Fisher Inn and Hadley House completed less than a year after devastating Hurricane Irma
Atlanta-based developer Songy Highroads, LLC has completed full renovations of two Islamorada hotels in the Florida Keys: Hadley House and Fisher Inn Resort & Marina. The reopening of the hotels has added to the much-needed supply of hotel rooms less than one year after Hurricane Irma left the Florida Keys devastated, with more than a third of hotel rooms on Islamorada still out of service, according to local reports.
SHR bought the hotels just weeks before the Category 4 storm hit the Keys, leaving behind four feet of water and major debris in the hotels.
“We were able to complete renovations quickly, in part, because our COO Todd Nocerini has deep local knowledge and heritage from growing up in South Florida,” said David Songy, SHR CEO and co-founder.
“We moved more than 30 people down here for construction,” Nocerini said, adding, “We were lucky because we still had power from the grid when more than 90 percent of the Keys were without power. To get an idea of the damage, we had a 600-pound ice machine that literally floated out the front door of one hotel and landed in a ditch across the street. That machine was almost impossible to fit through that door under any other circumstance.”
SHR invested more than $100,000 per room in both properties to give them complete remodels. The result is two hotels with a sleek, modern take on Florida Keys décor. SHR chose Dallas-based Aimbridge Hospitality, one of the nation’s largest independent hotel management firms, to manage the hotels, both of which are near some of Islamorada’s best attractions and restaurants.
Fisher Inn Resort & Marina
The Fisher Inn Resort & Marina is a 37-key hotel located on the Islamorada waterfront. The hotel includes a three-story lodge, four villas, a heated pool with ocean views, a boat ramp and boat trailer parking. The getaway features kitchenettes with refrigerators, free Wi-Fi, a bright décor inspired by the Keys and event space on the water. The hotel is located at 84951 Overseas Highway (Mile Marker 85). Hadley House Islamorada
Hadley House Islamorada is a 37-key boutique resort located on Islamorada’s oceanfront. The hotel includes eight buildings, a pool, courtyard and a 15-slip marina. The complete remodel included new lobby and guestroom finishes and furnishings, as well as new landscaping and an outdoor tiki bar.
