The Allen Morris Company today announced the formal grand opening of Maitland City Centre®, the transformative mixed-use community creating a “new Downtown” in Maitland, Florida, located just north of Orlando.
Mayor A. Dale McDonald, Mayor of the City of Maitland, as well as Vice Mayor Mike Thomas, Councilman John Lowndes, Councilwoman Joy Goff-Marcil and Councilwoman Bev Reponen, City Manager Sharon Anselmo, CRA Director Charles Rudd and Jeff Aames, Executive Director of the Maitland Area Chamber of Commerce, were in attendance to celebrate this significant milestone with a ribbon cutting ceremony marking the grand opening of the project.
Developed in collaboration with Lamm & Company and Millenia Partners, and financed by SunTrust and TD Bank, Maitland City Centre is the first urban, live/work community in the Orlando suburb of Maitland that provides a true downtown and sense of community. Spanning across a three-acre city block with 35,000 square feet of prime retail and restaurant space, Maitland City Centre is surrounded by vibrant sidewalks and an enviable mix of trendy dining and retail concepts. The six-story building, located at the crossroads of Maitland’s City Hall and the new pedestrian-friendly Independence Lane, provides everyday conveniences that establishes the project as not only a lifestyle, but also a Live-Work-Play and walkable destination.

Designed by ACi Architects to embody the Mediterranean-style architecture inspired by City Hall and the Cultural Corridor, Maitland City Centre is comprised of 220 one- and two-bedroom rental apartments and 24 live/work units, complemented by a full array of resort-like amenities. The elegant residences range from 700 to 1,300 square feet and feature open kitchens, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances as well as lushly landscaped terraces.

Maitland City Centre ushers in three impactful milestones for the City of Maitland and The Allen Morris Company; 1.) the first intentional creation of a whole downtown as a gathering place for the people of Maitland, together with the new Independence Lane for festivals, special events, retail shops and restaurants; 2.) the first intentional creation of a curated mixed-use community that combines luxury apartments, live/work apartments with commercial zoning to allow employee staffed offices, fully-furnished shared workspaces, conference rooms, and a curated selection of great restaurants and retail for all times of the day or night; 3.) and the first creation of a walkable community thoughtfully integrating bicycle trails, dedicated ride-share drop-off locations, short walk to the SunLink Commuter Rail, a walkable city street adjacent to City Hall and the City Park, and reduced parking demand in a true Live-Work-Play community, with amenities eliminating the need for a car.
