Three doctors have been added to the Holy Cross Medical Group, a multi-specialty physician employed group of more than 150 physicians providing services throughout Broward and Palm Beach counties.
Michel Velez, MD, specializes in gastrointestinal cancers, as well as benign and malignant hematology. He is triple board-certified in internal medicine, hematology and oncology. An affiliate assistant professor of clinical biomedical science at Florida Atlantic University and assistant professor at Florida International University, Dr. Velez comes to Holy Cross from Memorial Healthcare System. He was chief fellow at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where he completed his hematology-oncology fellowship. Dr. Velez completed his internal medicine residency at University of Miami Miller School of Medicine at JFK Medical Center and Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Dellene Troy, DO, focuses on interventional sports and spine medicine. Her primary expertise is the treatment of sports injuries and chronic conditions affecting the spine, hips, knees, shoulders, ankles, elbows, and wrists. Common procedures performed by Dr. Troy include joint injections, prolotherapy, PRP, epidural steroid injections, medial branch blocks, nerve conduction studies / electromyography, and Botox. She completed medical school at New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine followed by a traditional rotating internship. She then completed her residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at New York University Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation, followed by a fellowship in interventional sports and spine medicine at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Troy speaks English, Russian, and Spanish.
Jose Elias Collado Peralta, M.D.: Fluent in Spanish and English, Dr. Collado is a knowledgeable cardiologist certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the National Board of Echocardiography. He joins Holy Cross from the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio where he has been working in their advanced heart failure cardiology program. He graduatedmagna cum laude with his medical degree from Universidad Catolica Madre Y Maestra in the Dominican Republic. He served as a research assistant at New York Presbyterian studying left ventricular assist devices (LVADs) and patients living with heart transplants. before joining the Cleveland Clinic in Florida, where he served as chief resident of internal medicine and then chief cardiology fellow. He was honored with the hospital’s Most Valuable Resident/Fellow award in 2017. His focus area is congestive heart failure.
