Holy Cross Hospital to Donate $25,000 Among Food Insecurity Programs in Broward
For the fifth consecutive year, Holy Cross Hospital is calling on 501(c)(3) Broward community agencies who focus on food insecurity to apply for the John Johnson Food Security Grant. In observance of National Hunger Month in September, Holy Cross Hospital will be awarding $25,000 in grants in support of programs focused on ending hunger in Broward County. The food insecurity grants are presented annually to honor former Holy Cross Hospital CEO and President Emeritus John C. Johnson, who believed no one should suffer from food insecurity.
“Mr. Johnson was extremely passionate about ensuring that every man, woman and child has access to an adequate food supply and we are happy to be empowering those charities who share his passion,” said Sister Rita Levasseur, the non-profit hospital's vice president of mission and values.
