Crown Center Plaza on popular Cypress Creek Road scheduled for August 2019 completion

Native Realty Founder and CEO Jaime Sturgis has been selected to exclusively lease Crown Center Plaza, a retail project under construction on Cypress Creek Road in Uptown Fort Lauderdale – an evolving hub for technology, government and aviation office tenants. Developed by Midgard Group, Crown Center Plaza is poised to fill a void for high-quality retail and restaurant offerings to service the robust professional population.

The 18,000-square-foot retail center at 1475 W. Cypress Creek Road is scheduled for August 2019 completion. Crown Center Plaza is designed with high ceilings, open floor plans, hurricane resistant windows and opportunities for prominent signage with visibility from I-95.

Sturgis secured the listing at a time when Uptown Fort Lauderdale is being positioned for substantial growth. The area is already home to blue-chip corporate tenants such as CBS, Citrix Systems, Hotwire Communications and Microsoft. A partnership between the public and private sector called Envision Uptown has created a framework for additional expansion, including a proposed 353-acre Uptown Urban Village.

Another major asset for Uptown Fort Lauderdale – the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (FXE) – continues to expand. Sheltair Aviation is building a new 20-acre Northside Hangar Complex, a $30 million investment into the airport.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to market brand-new, state-of-the-art retail space in an extremely busy neighborhood with a major need for new retail offerings,” Sturgis said. “The developer has conceived a stunning retail project that is truly unmatched in the market. We are already seeing strong demand from shops and restaurants.”

Crown Center Plaza is surrounded by 8 million square feet of office space, nearly 233,000 employees based within five miles of the project site and seven universities in just a three-mile radius.

Native Realty has enjoyed a torrid summer of dealmaking and new investment sales and leasing assignments.

Earlier this month, the firm announced three new exclusive listings in downtown Fort Lauderdale:

A three-property portfolio including the popular Chimney House restaurant at 701-715 W. Las Olas Blvd. The portfolio is being marketed for sale with an asking price of $2 million

A historic church building that has been converted for office and retail use at 441 NE Third Ave. in the Flagler Village neighborhood

An office and retail building for lease at 400 S. Andrews Ave., directly on the New River

In July, the firm’s Sara Dorfman arranged a Flagler Village lease on behalf of the founders of Rank & File Social Club, a cocktail lounge and live music venue scheduled to open this fall.

On June 29, Sturgis and Amanda Roy closed the $6.75 million sale of mixed-use Seagrape Commons, a fixture in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea for more than 50 years.

Native Realty is headquartered in Flagler Village’s the Hive – a popular complex with retail, restaurants, offices, a vintage arcade bar and yoga studio.
