NSU student and Fort Lauderdale resident awarded $2,500

Thomas Sternberg’s academic achievements and an essay he wrote about a common issue facing community associations today, and how he would counsel an association to resolve it, were recognized by South Florida community association law firm Kaye Bender Rembaum, which awarded him a $2,500 scholarship.

“The scholarship has provided me with an invaluable opportunity to continue my academic pursuit while in law school,” said Sternberg. “I cannot thank the donors enough for their continued commitment to the success of students which has allowed me to remain focused on school while easing the financial burden. The members at Kaye Bender Rembaum have truly made a lasting impact on my life, one which I hope to return to future students in their legal and academic endeavors.”

The Firm presents an annual scholarship to a second or third year full-time or fourth year law student at Nova Southeastern University who is in good standing with a grade point average above a 3.3, demonstrates community involvement and prepares an essay on a topic relating to community association law.

“This marks the seventh year we have awarded a scholarship to a deserving NSU law student,” said Robert L. Kaye, Esq., Manager of Kaye Bender Rembaum. “We believe it is important to support future leaders in the South Florida legal community and Thomas’ academic accomplishments make him well-deserving of this recognition.”

Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law Dean, Jon M. Garon, noted, “Over the years, Kaye Bender Rembaum has provided scholarship support to Nova Southeastern University law students and hired our graduates. The Firm’s emphasis on community involvement mirrors the core values of the law school and enables us to recognize students committed to making a difference in our community.”
