Toscana Divino Group To Take The Helm At Ballerina, Oceana Bal Harbour’s Private Restaurant

5/17/18

Oceana Bal Harbour, the artful ultra-luxury condominium in Miami’s elite Bal Harbour neighborhood, announced its exclusive partnership with celebrated Italian hospitality group, Toscana Divino Hospitality Group, who will be operating the project’s residents-only restaurant, Ballerina. Housed within the poolside gardens of the 240-unit all-glass tower, the 100-seat full-service restaurant and bar will offer an elevated Italian concept to Oceana’s world-class residents.

Inspired by world-renowned artist Jeff Koons’s “Ballerina” – the multi-million-dollar sculpture that lives in Oceana Bal Harbour’s beachside garden – and designed by world-famed Italian architect Piero Lissoni, Ballerina will be composed of seasonally-inspired classic and creative Italian cuisine in an inviting and lively environment.

Acting as an extension of residents’ kitchens, the restaurant will open seven days a week: Sunday-Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for breakfast, lunch and dinner and Friday-Saturday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The partnership follows what has been a whirlwind of success for Toscana Divino Hospitality Group in Miami.

Founded in 2012 by Tommaso Morelato and Stefano Cavinato, Toscana Divino, located in Mary Brickell Village, has climbed to critical acclaim and is considered by many one of the best Italian restaurants in Miami.

Following the success of the Toscana Divino restaurant, the duo then opened Ironside Kitchen, a Neapolitan pizzeria that opened in 2014 in the emerging Upper East of Miami. From the beginning, this relaxed joint enjoyed great popularity among locals as well as visitors from all over the world due to its eclectic, open-air setting.

In 2016, the founders of Toscana Divino launched a new concept restaurant inside Oceana Bal Harbour’s sister property, Oceana Key Biscayne, a 140-unit luxury condominium at 350 Ocean Drive. The move ushered a new phase for the company in luxury residential real estate.

"Ballerina will be a very unique restaurant, where you will feel well, eat well and know that what you’re eating and drinking is produced and served with care and integrity,” said Tommaso Morelato, CEO of the group. "We have gained an unparalleled experience in the residential market after successfully operating a similar program at one of Key Biscayne’s most exclusive luxury condominiums over the past two years."

World-class culinary chef Andrea Marchesin will lead Ballerina’s kitchen with an Italian-inspired menu, which will include signature dishes such as the Vitello Tonnato lobster salad, freshly prepared crab cakes, grilled octopus and Italy’s classic Branzino fish, fresh from the Mediterranean Sea. For daytime casual bite affairs, the poolside and snack options will include homemade pastas, sandwiches, fresh salads, juices and cocktails.

“We make almost everything in-house from scratch to honor our country’s rich heritage and tradition,” said Andrea Marchesin, executive chef of the Toscana Divino Hospitality Group. “We select the best ingredients available in local markets and source the world’s best artisan, specialty products—organic when possible, always seasonal and healthy.”

The restaurant bar will offer residents and guests organic, fresh juices, as well as craft cocktails—from a classic margarita or an aperitif to an after-dinner grappa or limoncello. Ballerina is one of the only residential restaurants, if not the only, in Miami to have a liquor license, thanks to the project’s former location as the Bal Harbour Club.

The 100-seat exposed-kitchen concept extends past the physical restaurant space to offer poolside gourmet bites and cocktails, in-condo room service deliveries and dinner-party catering services with on-site chefs and wait staff. Additionally, the gourmet eatery will operate in synergy with the spa concepts by offering “eating-conscious” and farm-to-table selections.

Ballerina is also incorporated into the Oceana Bal Harbour mobile app, which allows residents to make reservations, schedule in-condo deliveries and catering services and place personalized orders.

While the restaurant will remain exclusive for the residents, guests of homeowners will also be welcomed to dine.
