Baker Donelson Announces Eve A. Cann Elected Shareholder

Baker Donelson has elected 11 new shareholders across the Firm, including Eve A. Cann of the Firm's Fort Lauderdale office.

This year's class of new shareholders is comprised of more than 50 percent women, making it the fourth consecutive year women have made up nearly or more than half of the Firm's newly elected shareholders. Additionally, nearly half of the new shareholders, including men and women, have taken advantage of Baker Donelson's industry-leading parental leave policy during their time at the Firm.

Ms. Cannis the Firm's first home-grown Florida shareholder, having joined the Firm in 2014 as a lateral associate. She is a member of the Firm's Consumer Finance Litigation and Compliance Group and is experienced in a broad range of business and commercial litigation matters, primarily focusing her practice on the representation of financial institutions in both affirmative and defensive capacities. She also counsels businesses in a wide array of disputes including matters involving breach of contract and negligence. She regularly defends clients against claims of violations of federal and state consumer protection statutes, for violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), and for violations of the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA).

A graduate of the University of Miami School of Law, Ms. Cann has been named a "Rising Star" by Florida Super Lawyers since 2014 and was named a "Top Up & Comer" in Florida Trend's 2016 Legal Elite. She is a member of the American, Federal, Dade County and Broward County Bar Associations.
