City National Bank, Florida’s Big Bank Alternative, announced that Cary Berman has joined as Senior Vice President, Residential Lending Production Manager in Orlando. In this role, Berman will be responsible for the expansion of CNB’s mortgage business throughout the state of Florida.

Prior to joining CNB, Berman served as Florida Mortgage Market President for National Bank of Commerce, where he expanded the bank’s mortgage capabilities in the state of Florida. With more than 25 years of banking and finance experience, Berman also served as President of First Green Bank and held various senior management positions with Iberiabank, Seaside National Bank & Trust and PNC Bank.

“Cary has a proven track record of performance building and maintaining a growth strategy for banking institutions within Florida,” said Tony Eelman, Managing Senior Vice President, Residential Lending Managing Director with City National Bank. “We are looking forward to his expertise as we continue to strengthen our mortgage offerings throughout Florida.”

Berman’s hiring is another step in City National Bank’s statewide expansion efforts. In 2017 bank strengthened its Central Florida presence with new offices and strategic hires in Sarasota and Tampa.

Berman received his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Foundation for Seminole County Public Schools.
