Clinics Can Help (CCH), the West Palm Beach-based nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing medical equipment to those in need, is in need of wheelchairs, and is asking the community for help.
Owen O’Neill, CEO of Clinics Can Help (CCH), said his organization donates about 700 wheelchairs a year to children and adults in need in Palm Beach County, each managing a different condition, illness or need for recovery. CCH has about 35 wheelchairs currently in inventory, but with a constant demand, the organization needs to be sure they have ample stock for incoming requests.
“Wheelchairs come in so many styles and with different functions,” shared O’Neill. “Our clients may need one with raised foot pedals, with a reclining back, designed to be secured in a medical van, or to fit a child with cerebral palsy. Wheelchairs are necessary equipment to help these individuals live with mobility, independence and dignity, and with a retail price range from $300 to $30,000 they are sometimes out of reach for many people.”
For those who would like to donate new or used wheelchairs to Clinics Can Help, they are accepting donations at their new office and warehouse, located at 2560 Westgate Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33409. Used equipment will be refurbished and cleaned for use by families in need.
“If a wheelchair is sitting unused in a garage or storage unit, please bring it in. it’s a simple way to make a huge difference in someone’s life. O’Neill said.
