Alex Rodriguez-Roig

Alex Rodriguez-Roig, president of Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade, was honored with South Florida Business & Wealth (SFBW) magazine’s Apogee Award in the President category. The award was presented at SFBW’s Apogee Awards program on Oct. 27 at NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale.

The Apogee Awards is a unique awards program created by SFBW to recognize distinguished leaders who hold positions in the C-Suite of companies. The awards honor a small group of individuals in South Florida whose dedication to their occupation, industries and communities deserves particular recognition.

Three executives in each of the following leadership roles representing Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties were honored: President, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Marketing Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Information Officer, Chairman, and Senior Human Resource Executive.

In his position, Rodriguez-Roig works tirelessly to serve thousands of Miami-area boys and girls aged 5–18 with positive programs in the areas of character and leadership development, educational enhancement, career preparation, health and life skills, cultural arts and sports, fitness and recreation. Over 60 percent of Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s members are from low-income families; more than 40 percent are from single parent households. With his ambition and determination, Rodriguez-Roig leads the organization’s efforts to make a difference in the lives of Miami-area children and youth.

“I am very honored to be a winner of South Florida Business & Wealth’s Apogee Award in the President category,” said Rodriguez-Roig. “To be recognized among this small group of C-level executives is very exciting.”
