On October 8, 2016, the Ghost Light Society, the Broward Center for the Performing Arts’ young professionals group, hosted the 7th Annual Ghost Light Soirée on the stage of the historic Parker Playhouse in Fort Lauderdale. Presented by Alpine Jaguar, this year’s Soirée surpassed all previous years raising more than $98,000 to support the Broward Center’s wide variety of arts-in-education programs offered for Broward County students.
The event’s “Golden Age of Hollywood” theme highlighted the unofficial kick-off of the 50th anniversary season of the iconic Parker Playhouse, with attendees channeling the many legendary stars who have graced its stage over the years.
The annual Soirée was co-chaired for the second time by Heather Geronemus of Ultimate Software and Ashley Sawyer Smith of Akerman LLP.
“The Ghost Light Society is thrilled to be able to have such a positive impact on the more than 150,000 students in the community each year who benefit from the Broward Center’s education programs,” said Geronemus. “We are extremely grateful to all of our amazing sponsors, volunteers and guests who helped us make this year’s Soirée our most successful fundraiser to date,” said Smith.
In addition to support from presenting sponsor Alpine Jaguar, the 7th Annual Ghost Light Soirée was also made possible through the support of platinum sponsor Ultimate Software and gold sponsors Akerman LLP – Fort Lauderdale, Charles and Laura Palmer, City Furniture, Epsilon, Greenspoon Marder, John Knox Village, KHS&S, Memorial Healthcare System, Merrimac Ventures and SunTrust.
