Augustus Hunter To Lead Civil-Highway Group In WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff’s Tampa Office

Augustus M. Hunter has been named a senior supervising civil engineer in the Tampa office of WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, a global engineering and professional services organization.

In his new position, Mr. Hunter will serve as chief engineer in the civil-highway group of the firm’s Tampa office, with responsibility for providing guidance to project managers and performing quality and constructability reviews on projects throughout Florida. His responsibilities include project management, engineering, design, quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) and business development leadership.

Mr. Hunter has over 37 years of experience in highway and traffic engineering design, project coordination and management. His areas of expertise include highway and drainage design, corridor studies, traffic signal and pavement marking design, liaison with government agencies, storm water permitting, traffic control plans, contract negotiations, project schedules and reports, and QA/QC reviews. He has served as the project manager of a wide range of civil-highway projects for Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) districts, local counties and municipalities. Prior to joining WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, he was a vice president and highway design service director for a Florida-based consulting engineering firm.

A licensed professional engineer in Florida, Mr. Hunter earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Florida. His professional affiliations include the American Society of Highway Engineers, Florida Engineering Society/Florida Institute of Consulting Engineers and the National Society of Professional Engineers.
