The Moss Foundation, with support and contributions from employees and subcontractors of Moss & Associates, donated more than $14,000 worth of school supplies as a result of their 11th annual back-to-school drive, which benefited Thurgood Marshall Elementary School, Dillard Middle School, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Montessori Academy and students living at the Broward Outreach Center for the Homeless.
Donations included more than 1,000 backpacks, 1,308 binders and folders, 1,193 composition notebooks and more than 1,000 pencils. The foundation also collected spiral notebooks, filler paper, erasers, sharpeners, pencil pouches and cases, crayons, markers, scissors, Sharpies, colored pencils, glue sticks, highlighters, rulers and flash drives.
“We are thrilled with the results of this year’s back-to-school drive as it’s the largest, most successful drive in Moss history,” said Chad Moss, president of the Moss Foundation. “The Moss Foundation strives to contribute to the community in tangible ways, and supporting students in our community definitely falls in line with our mission.”
In addition to school supplies, more than 1,000 uniforms, $2,000 worth of gift cards, socks and underwear were collected.
By taking advantage of this year’s back-to-school sales and implementing smart shopping, the Moss Foundation was able to triple the donation of school supplies and uniforms.
