Zascha Blanco Abbott, Special Counsel with the Fort Lauderdale office of Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin, was recently named Chair of the Employment and Labor Law Committee of the American Bar Association’s Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section (TIPS). The Employment and Labor Law Committee of TIPS is a national entity that brings together plaintiff, defense, insurance and corporate counsel to learn about, advocate for, and network together regarding issues of interest to employment law professionals. The committee provides its members opportunities for publication, presentation, leadership, and career development on a national level, recognized by all types of legal practitioners.

A member of the firm’s Professional Liability Department, Ms. Abbott focuses her practice on representing public and private employers throughout Florida in labor and employment matters. She handles a variety of cases, including claims of discrimination, hostile work environment, breach of contract claims, constitutional violations, and retaliation claims. She also defends employers in wage and hour cases. Ms. Abbott serves as the Chair-elect of The Florida Bar’s Labor and Employment Law Section.  She is also a member of the Society for Human Resource Management.
