Simon, a global leader in retail real estate, announced a management promotion and addition to the marketing team at Sawgrass Mills, the largest outlet and value retail shopping destination in the U.S. Chris Valle has been named director of marketing and business development, and Marina Ramirez has joined the team as assistant director of marketing and business development. Joellyn Fellmeth continues to lead all marketing strategies and efforts for Sawgrass Mills as regional vice president of marketing.
In his new role, Valle will oversee business development, events and marketing efforts, including digital marketing and social media for the center. A South Florida native, Valle has been with Sawgrass Mills for nearly four years and was previously responsible for maximizing business growth and success by facilitating communication between retailers, mall management and shoppers as the center’s tenant relationship manager.
Ramirez, who began her career in marketing as an intern for Sawgrass Mills, is returning to the center to support and coordinate all marketing and business development efforts. Ramirez previously worked as an assistant marketing director at Palm Beach Outlets where she assisted with the development and implementation of the outlets’ marketing plan and programs and contributed to digital strategies.

Sawgrass Mills recently unveiled the expansion of The Colonnade Outlets, which includes 24 new retailers and one restaurant, Matchbox, set to open later this year. In addition, the mall will revitalize and redefine The Oasis “neighborhood” with attractive gathering spaces and lush seating in time for the holiday season. The center will also complete a modern 1,700-space parking garage this summer and its first new full-price component, Town Center at Sawgrass Mills, in fall 2018.
