Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade was recently awarded a $10,000 grant from the Miami Kiwanis Youth Foundation. The grant will support recreational programming at Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s Kendall Club through recreational capital improvements to the gym, which is used by more than 600 youth each year. Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade has received funding from the Miami Kiwanis Youth Foundation for over 15 years.
The awards were presented at the Kiwanis Club of Miami general meeting on Monday, June 13 at the Kendall Sports Grill.
Since 2000, the Miami Kiwanis Youth Foundation has distributed grant funds to a wide range of charitable organizations that provide direct sports and recreational programs for children. The foundation has long-term financial support from the Paul Zee Foundation, for the purpose of providing Miami-Dade County youth with recreational activities. With the conclusion of the 17thgrant season, the total funds invested in the community’s youth now stands at nearly $1.3 million. This year’s grants (a total of $102,329) were awarded to 12 charitable organizations.
“We are very thankful to the Miami Kiwanis Youth Foundation for its generous grant,” said Boys & Girls Clubsof Miami-Dade President Alex Rodriguez-Roig. “The grant will help us continue to support quality recreational programs and facilities, which are very important to youth development, at our Kendall Club.”
