Journalism Classes for Kids Ages 14-18
What/Who:
The Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami (MOCA) is offering journalism classes for teens ages 14 through 18. The MOCAZine camp is a five-week intensive program that provides students with the opportunity to learn writing and art making skills. Each week will have a different theme to help students discover the basics of photojournalism and graphic design. Taught by professionals in the field, the MOCAzine camp inspires students and prepares them for real-world experiences as aspiring writers and artists.
When: The classes will run from 9 AM – 1 PM Monday through Friday
1st Session
June 13 – 17: Photojournalism
June 20 – 24: Create a Zine Workshop
June 27 – July 1: Illustrating Narrative
July 5 – 8 (no camp on July 4): The Art of Listening
July 11 – 15: Storyboards
2nd Session
July 18-22 Photojournalism
July 25-29 Illustrating Narrative
August 1-5 The Art of Listening
August 8-12 Create a Zine Workshop
August 15-19 Storyboards
