Spay Day at Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League June 14, 2016

6/12/16

Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League will offer free spay and neuter surgeries at the League in West Palm Beach Tuesday, June 14, 2016. This event is open to domestic cats belonging to all residents of Palm Beach County, Florida. Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League's goal is to spay/neuter a total of 200 owned cats this day.

Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League is working hard to help end euthanasia due to pet-overpopulation by providing affordable services to Palm Beach County pet owners. In addition to being spayed/neutered, each cat will be given FVRCP+CH vaccine, rabies vaccine, and will be microchipped. Palm Beach County Ordinance 98-22 requires cats to be spayed or neutered and microchipped by four months of age unless medically contraindicated. All cats participating in this event will be microchipped unless they already have a microchip.

Pet owners can review the League's application and post-surgical instructions found at PeggyAdams.org and complete the online application to schedule an appointment. Check-in time is 7:30am - 9am; Check-out time is 5pm. Cats must arrive in a secure, size appropriate cat carrier; no cardboard carriers; and one cat per carrier.

"There are so many reasons to have your pet spayed or neutered," said Rich Anderson, Executive Director and CEO at Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League. “Most importantly, it’s been scientifically proven that pets who are spayed or neutered live longer and healthier lives. From a community perspective, there are thousands of homeless animals entering shelters each year. Unfortunately, many do not find their forever home; spaying/neutering is the only permanent, 100 percent effective method of birth control for cats and dogs. It’s proven to be the most effective way to control the pet population." www.PeggyAdams.org.

The League is an independent nonprofit animal rescue organization operating continuously since 1925.

Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League’s adoption center is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. For additional information, visit PeggyAdams.org or call 561.686.3663.
