SeniorLiving.org (https://www.seniorliving.org) today recognized Florida as #1 best state for older adults based on 15 statistical categories, such as taxes, income, cost of living and weather to name a few. Below is a link to the new research:

Florida’s winning position is due largely to top-quarter finishes in every category, though the state didn’t come in first overall in any of the three. Still, Florida ranked at or near the bottom in just one segment (nursing care availability) and was in the middle in a few others, ranking in the top quarter in more than half of all individual metrics we considered.
Across the U.S. every major region was represented in the top 10, although half of the states at the top are in the South:
- Florida
- Oklahoma
- Mississippi
- Delaware
- Massachusetts
- Maryland
- North Dakota
- California
- North Carolina
- South Carolina
The state that ranked last was Montana and you may be asking, “What about Arizona?” The Grand Canyon state, also known for older adults, ranked #40.
