In an effort to continue providing educational opportunities for students, the Broward Center for the Performing Arts has launched its Teen Ambassador program virtually. During this year’s program, 23 high school students representing 15 public, private and home schools in Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties have been selected as Broward Center Teen Ambassadors for the 2020-2021 season.
For more than 10 years, the Teen Ambassador program has been fostering the next generation of performing arts fans. During this unique year, the select group of high school performing arts enthusiasts will attend monthly workshops on Zoom to enhance their knowledge of the arts and enjoy learning from a wide range of guest speakers covering different performing arts topics. They will also share insights and post reviews of virtual and live theatrical, family, dance, opera, jazz and classical performances when available. The students also earn community service hours through this innovative program that ensures a fresh perspective on traditional and contemporary arts.

Broward Center’s Road to Recovery Fund
The Broward Center is on the Road to Recovery. While the theaters are dark and staff is at a minimum, the hard work continues. Faced with the loss of 90% of its revenues, the Center depends on contributions to sustain its operations as it prepares for the day when the doors reopen, the curtain rises and the lights return to the Broward Center stages. Donations to the Road to Recovery Fund can be made at BrowardCenter.org/R2R.
