Free Zoom event is part of the Arts Mean Business Speaker Series
Business for the Arts Broward (BFA)is pleased to announce a new free virtual talk with international artist and master sculptor Nilda Comas on Wednesday, December 16 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.as part of its ongoing Arts Mean Business Speaker Series (AMB).

Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Comas is the art curator of the Venetian Arts Society (VAS), and her career as an artist spans almost 50 years. Comas’ most recent commission, the most important of her career so far according to her, was to create a 9-foot marble sculpture of Mary Jane McLeod Bethune – founder of Bethune Cookman University, the National Council of Negro Women and co-founder of the United Negro College Fund – for the United States Capitol in Washington D.C.
With dozens of solo and group exhibitions under her belt, Comas has exhibited her work in Florida, New York, Ohio, Alabama, Texas, Indiana, Maryland, California, Pennsylvania, Louisiana, the United Kingdom and Italy. Comas is also the recipient of more than 20 awards, honors and grants, and has appeared on several TV interviews both locally and abroad.
AMB is just one of several ways BFA supports local artists while fostering cultural vitality, creative success and economic development. BFA continuously supports the local arts community and promotes local artists, cultural non-profits and diverse art-related projects. BFA annually hosts several events in addition to AMB, including Art & Soul, Art in the Workplace, Art Curation and Art+Stroll.
