Broward Education Foundation Donates More Than 161 Miles Worth of Lysol Wipes to 222 Broward County Public Schools

12/2/20

Students and Faculty Well-Stocked and Sanitized to Prevent Spread of the Coronavirus

Broward Education Foundation announced it distributed a total of 42,000 cannisters of Lysol Disinfectant Wipes to all 222 Broward County Public Schools, tech centers and mail rooms on November 20, 2020.

To break it down, each Broward County Public Elementary, Middle and High School, plus technical facilities and mailrooms each received a minimum of 180 cannisters totaling 10,290,000 inches. As there are 63,600 inches in a mile, the cumulative total equates more than 161 miles. To put it in perspective, a one-way trip from Fort Lauderdale to Key West!

“We are so pleased to continue to support Broward County Public Schools with whatever needs arise,” said Tim Curtin, board chair of Broward Education Foundation. “I guess you could now literally say Broward Education Foundation goes the extra mile, or in this case the extra 160 miles, for our students and teachers when it comes to keeping them safe and sanitary.”

Broward Education Foundation, the only 501(c)3 charitable organization solely dedicated to serving students and teachers in Broward County Public Schools, was able to make this substantial donation through the non-profit’s partnership with the Kids in Need Foundation.
