Fort Lauderdale-based Freedland Harwin Valori, PL (FHV), along with the Rotary Club of Weston and Huntington Learning Center, are asking for the community’s support to raise funds for the annual Harvest Drive, which helps feed families in need. The organizations will be collecting funds through Tuesday, Dec. 1.
Constraints on food collection and volunteer involvement due to the COVID-19 pandemic have led to the need for help from the community, to ensure that families in need have food this holiday season. With a goal to provide 1,500 families with students in Broward County Public Schools two full bags of non-perishable groceries (40 pounds of food) and a $25 gift card, the organizations are asking for monetary donations of any amount.
Donations can be made via Venmo at @RotaryFeeds, CashApp at $WestonRotary, and PayPal at reho7@aol.com.
“This funding from the community will be essential for this year’s Harvest Drive to succeed,” said FHV founding partner Michael Freedland, Esq., who is also a former past president and board member of the Rotary Club of Weston. “Donating to the Harvest Drive is an opportunity for anyone to directly and positively impact the lives of food-insecure families with children.”
“Since mid-March, we have been providing nearly 4,000 local families in need with non-perishable food bags through the Harvest Drive, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Renee Herman, founder of Harvest Drive Florida. “Now, with the holidays upon us, help from the community is greatly needed for the Harvest Drive to provide families with hearty meals.”
In addition to giving to a great cause, everyone who donates, regardless of the amount, will be entered in a raffle to win a $1,000 American Express gift card. To be entered in the raffle, donors simply need to email a screenshot of their donation to rotaryfeeds@gmail.com.
