Free Outdoor Monthly Series in North Miami

What/Who:

The Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami (MOCA) is pleased to welcome two-time GRAMMY nominated artist Elsten Torres, more widely known as “Fulano,” for a special performance as part of its monthly “Jazz at MOCA” series. Fulano, Cuban-born singer and songwriter, was raised in New York City, and currently resides in Miami. His multicultural upbringing paired with his talents in singing, songwriting, and guitar, result in a unique rhythmic kaleidoscope of sound.

Fulano offers a distinctive breath of fresh musical air developed through years of writing and performing all around the globe. His career reached a milestone in 2005 when he was nominated for a Latin GRAMMY for Best Song of the Year for “Todo el Año” featuring Obie Bermudez. Fulano was GRAMMY nominated again in 2007 and received a BMI Award in both 2004 and 2005. Fulano has composed hit songs for renowned musicians including Ricky Martin, Luis Fonsi, and Julio Iglesias Jr, among others.

Alongside his band “Fulano De Tal,” Fulano helped pioneer the Latin rock movement in the late 90’s. Today, he continues to seek new musical horizons while also finding ways to use his talents for charitable causes such as helping the homeless and terminally ill.

Gather your friends and family to enjoy the jazz rhythms of Elsten “Fulano” Torres under the stars, free to the public, rain or shine!
