Participants of the Small Business Executive Program and Nonprofit Executive Program were celebrated at graduation ceremonies
The Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship held luncheon ceremonies to celebrate graduates of the Small Business Executive Program (SBEP) in both Broward and Palm Beach Counties as well as the Nonprofit Executive Program (NPEP) in Broward. Closing ceremonies were held May 8 at the Urban League of Broward County for Broward graduates and May 17 at the Carolyn Sims Center for Palm Beach graduates.
“Twice a year we have the opportunity to work closely with local business and nonprofit leaders and watch them grow and expand their skills throughout the process. We truly enjoy working with these professionals to better themselves and improve their organizations,” said Jennifer Kovach, director of the Jim Moran Institute’s South Florida operations, which is part of Florida State University’s College of Business. “We are also honored that so many of our graduates return to the program as speakers to share the knowledge and skills they gained with future classes.”
The four-month-long programs, held each Spring and Fall, are ideal for CEOs, entrepreneurs, business owners, presidents and executive directors of small businesses and nonprofit organizations. Graduates emerge with the skills and training needed to capitalize on business opportunities, implement best practice management, and turn challenges into strategic advantage.
SBEP and NPEP participants were accepted into the programs through an application process and represented a variety of industries, including law, technology, construction, education and healthcare. Thanks to the Jim Moran Institute supporters, these programs are offered at no cost to the accepted participants. Applications for the Spring 2019 programs will be released July 1 and are due by September 30.
“I am very grateful to the Jim Moran Institute for the educational training, connections, and the support I received. I met other executive directors in my industry and these connections were an invaluable part of the program,” said Broward County NPEP graduate Andrea Eidelman, who serves as Executive Director of Debbie's Dream Foundation. “The lectures and sessions were useful and on point.”
"I found the Moran Executive Training to be very valuable. Every session provided several practical ideas to help improve my business. The guest speakers were outstanding. They each delivered a framework to help me work on building a great home health agency,” said Palm Beach County SBEP graduate Craig Glover, President of A Better Way Home Care.

His vision for the Jim Moran Institute was to provide opportunities that would help others become more successful business owners. A 1995 contribution from Jim and Jan Moran and JM Family Enterprises established the Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship at the Florida State University College of Business.
