Young At Art Hosted a Scintillating Night for the Senses

5/31/18

It was a scintillating night at the museum as guests enjoyed endless craft beers, cocktails and culinary delights, unique live music and art performances and sprawling art installations during Young At Art Museum’s SuperSaturated.

“SuperSaturated was a newly reimagined night designed to dazzle the senses,” said Mindy Shrago, Executive Director/CEO of Young At Art Museum. “We also celebrated the closing of our two main exhibitions by the immensely talented artists MILAGROS Collective and sleeper. We thank all of the artists, our sponsors and our guests who made this event so successful.”

SuperSaturated came to life throughout the museum’s courtyard, corridors and galleries with newly commissioned art installations and performances by locally and internationally acclaimed artists. It was the last chance for guests to experience the eye-popping installation Knight Club created by the pair of muralists known as MILAGROS Collective in which every surface of the museum’s largest gallery was painted from floor to ceiling in the artists’ signature pattern of radial lines. This optically immersive space was activated by Gramps Wynwood with a Sound Stage of bands and avant-garde performers including Poncili Creacion, Dracula and Other Body. Additional live music could be found throughout the museum by Mo’ Booty, Karosh, Atomai and OgeeE, Guests also enjoyed a futuristic environment designed specifically for performance artists entitled “i think i love you, are you ok!?” by Miami-based performance artist sleeper as well as other artistic performances and installations by artists including Francesco Lo Castro, Gustavo Oviedo, Haiiileen, Nice’n Easy Katerina Friderici and acclaimed Miami muralist David Anasagasti. Setting the atmosphere for the evening, pulsing LED panels and video screens surrounded these experiential performances.

Proceeds from SuperSaturated benefited Young At Art Museum's community Initiatives including ArtREACH, an after school enrichment program for homeless youth and teens living in Broward emergency and transitional shelters or in Independent Transitional Housing; ArtHouse, a socially engaged, art center in the Sistrunk corridor, one of the most impoverished communities in the nation; STEM 2 STEAM @ Sunland Park, resources and parent involvement that integrates arts-based education within the formal education system; Girls ‘N Power, a gender empowerment program conducted at PACE Center Broward that encourages at-risk teen girls to use the creation of art as a tool to find their voice and self-worth; and YAA for All, serving children, teens and adults with autism.
