The University of Miami Business School is proud to announce its May Distinguished Lecture Series with guest, Dr. Bruce Irwin, Founder/CEO of American Family Care, the world's leading provider of urgent care and family care. Born the son of an impoverished cobbler in rural Alabama, Dr. Irwin spent much of his childhood dreaming of one day becoming a doctor. After achieving that dream as an emergency room physician, he recognized how non-emergencies were clogging up waiting rooms. He sketched a plan for a network of urgent care clinics on a notepad. Today, American Family Care has more than 180 clinics and 600 in-network physicians caring for nearly 3 million patients a year.
