To celebrate those who make a difference in local communities, Young At Art Museum will host a special Valentine’s Day celebration during the 21st Annual Women of Vision Luncheonon Wednesday, February 14 beginning at 11 a.m., at Young At Art Museum, 751 S.W. 121 Ave. in Davie. The luncheon benefits YAA’s transformational outreach programs for underserved at-risk youth and families in the community.
Themed Passion Forward, this year’s luncheon will honor Diana Morrison, who will be recognized for her philanthropic support of the arts, education, the elderly and healthcare. Morrison, with last year’s Women of Vision honoree Victoria Ranger, passionately facilitates community partnerships and hands-on volunteer events through Ranger Good Works benefitting 900 underserved students attending Dillard Elementary School.
“I am thrilled to be recognized by Young At Art and so proud to be part of the Women of Vision,” said Morrison. “I appreciate the impact Young At Art’s initiatives have on the community. When you touch enough lives, the good works will be carried on. Working together, we can truly make a difference in South Florida.”
Young At Art Museum’s Board Member Maya Ezratti is luncheon chair and will serve as emcee.
As in years past, the Women of Vision Luncheon will benefit the Museum's creative and pioneering programs including ArtREACH, a free, afterschool art, literacy and academic enrichment program for homeless youth and teens, ages five-15, living in Broward emergency and transitional shelters, or in independent transitional housing; Girls N’ Power, a gender empowerment through art program for at-risk girls at the PACE Center Broward; and ArtHouse, a creative placemaking hub for residents of the Sistrunk neighborhood.
“We appreciate Diana’s passion, commitment and support for Young At Art and we look forward to honoring her and all of the Women of Vision,” said Mindy Shrago, Executive Director/CEO of Young At Art Museum. “Women of Vision brings together the women and men in our community that continue to make our community a great place to live, work and raise a family.”
Each of the Women of Vision will be presented with a hand-crafted, original piece of sterling silver jewelry created by Young At Art Museum's Artist in Residence Chisseko Kondowe.
