The Frank Art Gallery Presents Perceptual Tracking: A Color Space

1/4/18

New exhibition opens January 11 with reception

The Frank art gallery in Pembroke Pines presents “Perceptual Tracking: A Color Space,” a collaborative installation by artists Leah Brown, Christian Feneck and Peter Symons. On display through March 12, Perceptual Tracking opens on Thursday, January 11 at 6 p.m. with a reception and a special ballet performance by dancer Joanna Gustinelli. The reception is free and open to the public.

Upon entering the exhibition space at The Frank, visitors will experience a visual immersion of color and form interacting with custom, color-shifting light that gives the sensation of movement while concealing and revealing as it shifts through the spectrum. This color-space combines narrative-driven sculptural elements with color-field painting and atmospheric lighting to create four distinct views of a visually confusing scene that combines elements of the organic and inorganic, the "real" and the perceived, predator and prey.

In the front gallery, contemporary artists Henning Haupt, Donna Haynes, Bonney Goldstein, Virginia Fifield and Jen Clay will create pieces around the overarching theme of perception. The 3rd Space gallery will be curated by the artists of ArtServe.

“Perceptual Tracking kicks off an amazing year we have planned at The Frank in 2018,” said Joshua Carden, chief curator of The Frank. “The brilliant minds of some very talented artists have created an exceptional experience within this exhibition and we are excited to share this and more with the community.”
