Sapoznik Has Been a Catalyst in Transforming Wellnext Into a Culture of Wellness with a Strong Bottom Line
Sapoznik Insurance’s client Wellnext, LLC, a vertically-integrated developer, manufacturer, and marketer of dietary and nutritional supplements, has been ranked No. 1 on Springbuk’s list of the “Healthiest 100 Workplaces in America.” This list honors organizations that have comprehensively incorporated the most vital corporate wellness policies, practices, and programs in their workplaces.
In 2009, Sapoznik started working with Wellnext (formerly Nature’s Products), to lay the foundation for a healthier workforce. Sapoznik has guided the company’s transformation to offer an employee benefits program based on wellness, claims reduction, and offer plans that meet the needs of its workforce.
Sapoznik in conjunction with Jennifer Rendfry, Executive Wellness Consultant for Wellnext, provides resources to implement a variety of preventative health initiatives to help keep its employees active and healthy. Employees have access to biometric and preventative screenings, plus more thorough and advanced point-of-care testing. For example, Wellnext hosts mammogram parties (one of which helped an employee detect her cancer and ultimately save her life), and men’s health programs. To encourage healthy lifestyles, employees eat healthy breakfasts together, exercise in the company gym, or take a mental break in the meditation room.
To help Jennifer create the right programs, Sapoznik combs through Wellnext’s claims data to identify spikes that can decrease claims through its wellness programs; one such program is the Tobacco Cessation program, and now Wellnext is proudly a smoke-free campus.
By educating and empowering the Wellnext workplace community to make healthy choices, Sapoznik and Jennifer play an integral role in improving employee morale and performance, reducing employee absenteeism and preventing catastrophic health issues. In the first year of the wellness program, Wellnext experienced a reduction in claims of 3 percent; in the second year, 7 percent; and in the third claimant year, a 5 percent reduction in claims along with zero heart disease-related claims.
Since working with Wellnext, the dietary and nutritional supplements company has received local and national recognition for its commitment to the health and wellness of its employees.
