Community bank approves loan to acquire two commercial buildings and expand Keiser University’s footprint

First GREEN Bank, a local bank with a global mission, announced today a $10 million loan to Keiser University, a private, not-for-profit University. The loan will finance the acquisition of two school campuses located in Orlando and Daytona Beach, Fla.

“It is our pleasure to facilitate this type of commercial loan,” said Keith Costello, President & CEO of First GREEN Bank. “We are proud to extend our services to assist Keiser University while building Florida’s future human capital.” Senior Vice President of First GREEN Bank, Drew Saito facilitated and managed the transaction.

This partnership includes Keiser University’s Daytona Beach campus located at 1800 Business Park Boulevard and the Orlando campus located at 5600 Lake Underhill Road. The Daytona Beach campus opened in 1995, is approximately 35,500 square feet on seven acres and conveniently located for students and employees at I-95 and International Speedway Boulevard, near the famed Daytona International Speedway. The Orlando campus opened in 2003 and is comprised of two buildings with 54,000 square feet on seven acres. Both campuses provide ample parking, auditoriums, classrooms, laboratories, administrative offices, libraries, student lounges, and space for community events.

“Celebrating 40 years in Florida this year, Keiser University has a notable history of reinvesting in its existing and new facilities to meet the evolving needs of students, alumni, employees, and visitors of our campuses,” said Joseph Berardinelli, Senior Vice Chancellor of Finance, CFO, and Treasurer of Keiser University. “Our campuses are located in the heart of the communities they serve and our educational commitment to the local areas remains long-term and always with an eye toward student advancement and community partnerships,” he added.

First GREEN Bank’s commercial loans department includes 40 dedicated team members and offers a range of customized services and financing options. As part of the bank’s mission to promote sustainability, reduced financing is available on commercial real estate loans that use solar panels or that meet environmentally-friendly LEED certification. All seven First GREEN Bank branches, located in Altamonte Springs, Clermont, Fort Lauderdale, Mount Dora, Orlando, Ormond Beach, and Winter Park, provide its customers with the same quality customer service and values-based offerings.

About First GREEN Bank

Since its opening in 2009, First GREEN Bank has led an impactful and successful charge to prove there is a better way to do business — one that is financially, environmentally and socially responsible. Inspired by Patagonia’s mission of incorporating a strong sense of social responsibility into its business, founder Ken LaRoe and CEO Keith Costello are the only two leaders and friends in the banking industry to promote environmentally responsible behavior through its own business and employees. LaRoe and Costello coincidentally hold the last and second to last bank charter in the state of Florida and, together, plan to use that certification to promote their global mission.

Headquartered in Orlando, with additional locations in Mount Dora, Clermont, Ormond Beach, Winter Park, Altamonte and, most recently, Fort Lauderdale, First GREEN Bank offers personal and commercial banking services such as loans, mortgages, checking and savings, CDs, IRAs and money markets.
