Chefs Up Front is a unique dining experience where celebrated chefs create and prepare a five-course dinner tableside, paired with wine, for individual tables of 10. What separates this event from other tastings and food events is the wine-pairing component and the direct interaction between the chef and his or her table of 10. It is a very intimate, exclusive experience for both the chefs and the guests. Prior to the dinner, there is a silent auction with hors d'oeuvres and an open bar. After the dinner, there is an after party for the chefs to thank them for their time and efforts. Watch a video about the event: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kqz3jsJN9gc
The seventh annual Chefs Up Front dinners will be at The Biltmore Hotel Coral Gables on Friday, August 18th and at The W Fort Lauderdale Hotel on Friday, August 25th.
All monies earned from the decadent sit-down dinner, reception and auction assist FLIPANY in its mission to provide nutrition education, access to healthy food and physical activity to youths in South Florida. They reach more than 6,200 children each day via the Cooking Matters Program.

Background:
Today, about one in three American kids and teens is overweight or obese, nearly triple the rate in 1963. Childhood obesity is now the No. 1 health concern among parents in the U.S., topping drug abuse and smoking (American Heart Association).
FLIPANY implements programs that focus on improving the health and wellness of overweight/obese children and their families, and preventing heart disease and diabetes in these children as they become adults. Its programs use evidence-based curriculums to teach essential skills for lifestyle changes. Its programs include childhood weight management intervention, nutrition education, dietary counseling, promotion of physical activity, structured exercise and family behavioral modification. FLIPANY gives parents and children a positive, safe approach to a healthier lifestyle, regardless of where they live or income level.
