Nationally Recognized Speaker To Provide Gulliver Parents With Insight On How to Raise Children In The Age of Smartphones and Gadgets
WHO/WHAT: Speaker, author and consultant, Dr. Devorah Heitner, is set to hold an educational seminar for Gulliver parents called "Screenwise: Helping Kids Thrive (and Survive) in Their Digital World" at two of the school's campuses on Tuesday, February 28.
Dr. Devorah Heitner's presentation is intended to educate parents on how to raise children in the digital age. Specifically, she will touch upon how parents can be examples to their children when it comes to using smartphones and gadgets, and how parents can effectively monitor their children's Internet use.
Topics to be discussed will include:
- Choosing quality apps
- How to be safe with the Internet at various ages
- Navigating Friendships and Exclusion in an age of texting
- Understanding Privacy (Giving your child privacy and when its okay to intrude)
- Digital Footprint
- Navigating Distraction
