Wright-Pierce, an employee-owned, multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm serving public and private clients, has announced that Kathleen “Katie” N. Gierok, P.E. has joined Wright-Pierce as a Senior Project Manager in their Orlando, Florida office.  Wright-Pierce specializes in water, wastewater, stormwater and civil infrastructure engineering.

In her new position, Ms. Gierok will help increase the firm’s client base for regional potable water, reclaimed water and wastewater projects.  She will also increase Wright-Pierce’s capabilities in developing and managing utility projects in the Central and West Florida engineering markets.

A licensed Professional Engineer in Florida, Ms. Gierok earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Florida.  Her professional affiliations include the Florida Section of the American Water Works Association, Florida Water Environment Association and Water Environment Federation.

Ms. Gierok has nearly 24 years of experience in consulting engineering for utilities throughout Florida.  Her background includes planning, design and construction administration for public utility projects including water, wastewater and reclaimed water pipeline and pump station facilities, utility coordination, water and wastewater treatment facilities, site work/earthwork, and community-wide utility improvements, as well as providing assistance with grant funding and bond issues.   Ms. Gierok has been published in the Florida Water Resources Journal for her work in reclaimed water aquifer storage and recovery well development in Polk County; and has worked on development of a regional water cooperative in Polk County.
